Designer Bathrooms for Everyone

Bathrooms usually have a small space to show ones creativity. However, many bathroom decorators have managed to come up with new interesting innovative designs for the bathrooms. In the earlier days, mostly people do not give attention to make the space look good; but now with the increasing awareness people are paying attention to bathroom decoration. A range of innovative designer bathrooms are propagated in the bathroom décor channels. Some of the designs are created considering who is going to use the space. The designs are crafted for the particular age group or the choice and preferences of the user.

Nowadays, every member in the family is getting his/her own private rooms and attached bathrooms. And, every one decorates the room in his ones style. Similarly, bathrooms are also embellished as per ones willingness. The adult members of the family design their room in subtle and sober way. However, children make the use of bold and bright color scheme. Therefore, the bathroom designers have come up with some innovative designs as per the requirement of the user.

To mention some of the theme based designer bathrooms are:

•    Jungle book: As its name depicts ‘jungle book’, the bathroom will be decorated in bright colors found commonly in jungle. The walls will carry green color as like leaves and plants; large images of animals hidden in the leaves etc. Or, one can also use the printed wallpapers matching with the theme. A flowery pattern in curtain will add more taste in the ambience. This type of designer bathroom is mostly liked by kids. An adult may not like this kind of decoration in his private space.

•    Fish aquarium: This design makes great use of bright shades of blue. The walls are painted in blue with the impression of water bubbles and colorful fishes. Or, wallpapers of water print and bold imaging of variety of fishes will make the bathroom look like an aquarium. This type of decoration is also loved by the young ones. One can also add some sea side stones, seashells and marbles to give the place a natural look.

•    Beach: Everyone loves to feel like sitting on the beach while having a refreshing bath in his bathtub. This type of theme is generally liked by the youths. The ‘beach’ theme incorporates a scene of a beach with a creative use of colors in defining the sky and sea. Place some accessories that are commonly found on the beach to give it a natural look. This theme will remind you of the fun that you experienced on the beach.

A whole range of designer bathrooms can be accessed depending upon the taste and preference of the user. The user can explore an array of designs, patterns and themes through the bathroom décor sites, magazines, books and journals. Bathroom Ideas, Including Bathroom Design Ideas for Beautiful Bathrooms

Bathroom Ideas, Including Bathroom Design Ideas for Beautiful Bathrooms

Here are the best bathroom decoration ideas for your bathroom makeover project! Decorating bathrooms has never been easier, read on to find out how.

First, be sure to determine your overall budget and the scope of the project before doing anything else. This will eliminate additional stress and frustration as your bathroom makeover project is underway.

Once you have determined your overall project and budget, it is time to start formulating your color and style palette, utilizing the bathroom decorating ideas and plans you may have been thinking about. Is there a defined decorating style in the rest of your home that will be carried through to the bathroom decorating project? It’s a good idea to be consistent with the style you have set for other areas of your home, although in a bathroom you can ‘go down a different road’ as long as the basic design elements are kept consistent.

The same question applies to the color palette. Have you established a color palette of three to five colors in your home? If you have, select at least two of those colors, whether primary or secondary, to use in your bathroom decorating project.

If you’re not sure what to do with color, here is a suggestion. Find a reputable paint store and work with the suggested palettes and color chips. There are many to choose from, so if you have a color or two that you are working with, you will have no problem finding a variety of suggested color palettes.

Now that you have your style and color choices narrowed down, here are your other considerations and bathroom decoration ideas:

1. Decide if you want to use bold colors on the walls or keep them neutral and use color as an accent. In most bathrooms you can go either way. If you are renting your home or are not sure about putting a lot of color on the walls, stick with a neutral shade and you won’t go wrong. Use a washable paint such as eggshell or possibly a semi gloss, although you will get quite a bit of sheen with that finish.

2. Lighting is important in the bathroom for obvious reasons. Make sure you have enough and that at least one light is bright. Using a softer light such as a small lamp in place of a nightlight is great, but make sure your alternative sources of lighting are nice and bright!

3. You can substantially change the look of your bathroom with accessories, so here are some great bathroom decoration ideas – use some or all of them!

Change the mirror to create a new look. If the existing mirror is square or rectangular, consider oval if that will work in your bathroom. Use a mirror that has an interesting frame instead of just a plain or beveled edge.

If the cabinetry is staying, change the hardware and select something that you can coordinate with the towel holders, for example. This will create a pulled together, designer look. If your decor style is Shabby Chic or French Country, you might want to paint the cabinets.

Shop for accessories that have the color palette and overall design feel you are creating, but please don’t settle for the matching set of anything! You know, the toothbrush holder, soap dish, shower curtain and small wastebasket that have the same palm tree on them??? Don’t do it! Spend a little extra time looking for individual pieces that ‘click’, but don’t match. And, they don’t have to be new. You might find something awesome in another room of your home, a flea market, shopping online or a combination of all three. Take your time and be selective – you will be glad you did.

Think about storage for your bathroom makeover. If you have a linen closet, that’s great. If not, look for creative ways to store your towels, etc. I have used a nightstand from a bedroom set in the bath and it was great – The lower cabinet was great for supplies, and I stored makeup and such in the top drawer.

Finally, remember that safety is always at the forefront in the bathroom. Put rugs on the floor that are non-slip. You can find many great selections at any number of stores depending on your budget. Think twice about using glass jars, etc in the bath if there are small children that will be using the bathroom.

Decorating Ideas for Small Bathrooms

Decorating Ideas for Small Bathrooms

Remodeling your small bathroom can be a fun and challenging design job. Give your bathroom a fresh new look and if you want to, you can even make it appear larger by using light colors, the right mirrors, and a bathroom vanity that fits the space just right. Read on for the details.

Free Up Space: When working with a small bathroom, you want to make the most of the space wherever possible. A great way to do this right off the bat is to choose a new vanity that has a good amount of under sink and counter storage space. When using a vanity with a nice large under sink storage space it eliminates the need for other forms of storage, like over toilet cabinets and multiple racks. Another way to create additional space is by using a built-in shelving unit. If you already have one, great; if you don’t, then consider installing one, they are great for storage space and because they are flush against the wall, it gives a clean appearance. Pedestal style vanities pair well with this type of shelving, because they are also great for creating the look of a cleaner and more open space.

Play with Illusions: Another option is to utilize mirrors for the purpose of creating the illusion of space within the small bathroom. And if you are lucky enough to have a window in your bathroom, then you can use mirrors to add the illusion of more light too, which also helps with the look of more space. Adding a large mirror to your bathroom will create the illusion that the space is a little larger that it looked before. If you’re going to repaint the walls, make sure to use a light color palette. Light colors will make the room appear open and larger than dark colors. Light colors will also make your bathroom brighter, especially if you have natural light coming in.

Get Rid of Clutter: No matter what you do, if there’s a lot of stuff in your bathroom will still feel small and claustrophobic. Limit the amount of decorative objects as much as possible. This creates a nice minimalist look. Throw away any items you don’t really need or use; if you can’t remember the last time you used it, it goes in the trash. Add style through the frame of the mirror and light fixtures rather than adding other decorative items.

Start your small bathroom remodel creatively by getting some paper and pencil to illustrate a diagram of what you want for the bathroom. Make notations of the room’s dimensions and the estimated dimensions for necessary items you plan to shop for, like a 24″ bathroom vanity and shop for 30″ square mirrors, for example. This way, you’ll have some idea of the existing floor plan as well as the floor plan you desire for the completed project.

Please remember that safety is always the number one priority when working on home remodel projects. If any portion of the project becomes too much to handle, call a professional.

Protect Yourself When Using Public Bathrooms

Protect Yourself When Using Public Bathrooms

There are many different instances when we will have no choice except to use a public bathroom. When we travel, shop, or go out to eat, there is usually no way to avoid it.

At some time or another we have all known what it is like to encounter a public bathroom that just looks entirely too nasty to even consider using, but sometimes there is no other choice.

In case you did not know, there are things that are growing in public bathrooms that you would really probably prefer not to have to know about and thank goodness we can not actually see them because they would probably scare us to death! Toilet bowls alone can be home to up to or more than 3.2 million bacteria per square inch.

Bathroom countertops can have 452 bacteria per square inch, bathroom faucet handles can have 6,267 bacteria per square inch and trash cans can have 411 per square inch. Other places with plenty of bacteria are the toilet flush handle and the bathroom light switch.

These numbers are the amounts of bacteria found in an average home. Just imagine what the numbers can be for a public bathroom! Some of the worst bacteria that can be found in bathrooms are staphylococcus, salmonella, campylobacter, streptococcus, and the ever popular e-coli. These bacteria have the potential to make us extremely ill and can even cause death in very bad cases.

There is usually an attempt to keep a public bathroom clean by most responsible businesses, but even those who try will fall short. Not necessarily through neglect, but just because with so many people different people coming and literally going all the time, it would be impossible to maintain a perfectly sanitized bathroom at any time, much less all the time. Believe it, just because a public bathroom might look spotless and smell really great for a bathroom, it defiantly is not.

The solution for coming out of a public bathroom with as few bacteria exposures as possible, are as simple as what your mother probably always told you. Avoid coming in direct physical contact with a toilet seat if you can. If you can not do this, use a paper toilet seat cover if they are available.

Toilet paper will do in a pinch. Wash your hands with soap and water thoroughly and use a hand sanitizer if you have one. Use a clean paper towel to turn off the faucet and exit the bathroom. You just might get out of a public bathroom alive!
